Opalized wood (also known as opal wood or wood opal) is petrified wood with lots of minerals trapped inside. The minerals give this stone a wide variety of vibrant colors. Only recently discovered in Indonesia, this stone is becoming harder and harder to find as it has nearly been mined out.
